About Lexi the Author

If you have been following you know that amongst many other talents Captain Lexi is also a writer and author. I write because I enjoy it. I write because I appreciate the art of the story telling. I write because I understand the richness and value of stories. I write because writing makes me feel better. I write because I know that who we are as human beings derives from our own personal narratives, memory of the stories is critical to personal identity.

Writing is also like my own form of artistic expression. I create because during the act of creation I come alive and feel alive. I often say that the meaning of life is found, in part, in figuring out and expressing our inner nature. A tiger is only fully alive when it is acting like a tiger and doing tiger things. My nature is expressed in the act of the creation and giving life to the story. My creations are independent, created in a vacuum, without outside pressure or influence, thus why I do not allow comments on my creations, so nobody else ever gets to influence the pure act of raw creation.

My writing, much like my videos, are very raw, pure, gutteral, vulnerable, open, honest, genuine and passionate.

There are parts of the story I can show you on the YouTube videos, but… that is very limited. The richness of life, richness of the inner life of the human spirit can only be properly expressed in words. Video does a terrible job of sharing thoughts and feelings. I am a lifelong reader and a huge part of who I am has come from all that I have learned from reading books. Now, as a wise worldly woman, I want to give back to other people, show people the interesting things I have discovered in life. I want to weave the complex philosophies and ideas I find into the natural medium of my stories to make them easier for other people to absorb them, to plant the seeds in your mind, to help you grow too.

If you buy my books I am sure they will entertain you

Book 1 in the Female Adventure series

CRAZY WINDS

This book was actually written for a twelve year old, written in a easy style with simpler sentences and concepts in it. It is a fun easy to read page turner and fun true story of my solo kayak expedition around the Canadian shores of Lake Ontario in 2013. It is a story book, full of interesting easy to read true stories and life lessons suitable for teenagers. Adults who are not big readers will find it enjoyable and easy to read, the book helps you want to turn the page and keep reading to find out what comes next. There is nothing too heavy in the book and it is a lovely fun read for the weekend in the hammock.

This was the beginning of my relationship with Mother nature and the first time I ever stepped foot on a sailboat, the beginning of my sailing infection. I came home from this expedition and two weeks later bought my first sailboat, a little 27 foot sailboat with a jib boom named “Just Right” for miss Right.

Book 2 in the Female Adventure series

SAILING CRAZY WINDS

This book is about my first year out sailing on the Ocean. I enthusiastically jumped into this cruising lifestyle and abandoned all trace of my life on land and it went badly, big mistake. You probably know from the season 1 YouTube videos some of the story but they fail to convey what really happened.

This book is written for adults with a better educated level, it is a harder read yet still very entertaining. The reviews are positive and people find the book a riveting read, a page turner. I weave into the story concepts and ideas that affect all of us in this post-modern age of spin. We have all had trouble understanding the “other” and we have all been in relationship fights that we cannot understand.

“What Is very compelling about her story is that it’s not the typical YouTube story.  It presents a very real assessment of the choices we make, the people we let into our lives, and how “turning around” is not always going to be an option. She walks the reader through both her journey and her relationship while at the same time showing the reader that how any individual perceives truth and reality is only relative to that individual’s perception of truth -that there really is no absolute truth in a collective view of the world.

A very worth while read to anyone ever curious about sailing, the world, ourselves, and our relationships with each other as individuals.”                James

Book 3 in the Female Adventure series

DECONSTRUCTED by CRAZY WINDS

I refer to this book as my demon spawn, I give birth to dark things with words in here.

The third book is a brilliantly written book about horrible things. The true story of the deconstruction of my center as a human being, the loss of my identity as I got swallowed up in pluralistic deconstructionism and madness. I am not sure there are any nice stories about the descent into madness and this is not a nice story, not for the weak or the feint at heart. I classified it under domestic abuse and the philosophy of morals and ethics. You probably should not read this book, its about horrible things, but if you do read it, it will fascinate you. The book is riveting and hard to put down.

I hope that you the reader will enjoy following me down the rabbit hole into crazy town. Enjoy watching the descent into madness from the safety of the sidelines.

It is about the season two of the sailing adventure you can see on YouTube when I rediscover the wonders of cruising life with new crew. It is not a big secret that I play for both teams and my crew seduces me when she finds out.  The story of this lesbian relationship on the ocean develops from heaven and descends into hell and ends with COVID lock down in Antigua. The crazy on the boat only escalates as the covert narcissist draws me in and deconstructs me with her crazy making until I lose my own personal identity completely.

Who are you? Where does our identity come from? How are the walls of our identity constructed? How do other people affect our identity? How does our environment affect our identity? How do we know what is “right” and what is “wrong”? Where do ethics come from and how can we prove the “truth” of our own personal code of ethics? How do we handle “others” with very different ideas of right and wrong?

The stream of questions is endless…

Book 4 in the Female Adventure series

The Rise of Captain Lexi

The fourth book is bound to become the postmodern story of a generation. Although the book rises out of crazy times on the ocean as WildChild tries to sail home the book itself is inspiring. As with all my books the stories are entertaining and riveting page turners that spur you forward, the book is consuming and hard to put down. This book is unlike the others however, it seeks to both entertain you and inspire life changing epiphanies in you, this book will challenge you and change you. You will either LOVE it… or HATE it as this ride is gonna get wild. This is the story of coming out of crazy town and struggling to understand humanity. Come with me and meet crazy up close and personal, let us try to understand the human condition together.

Children’s Philosophy Series

It is very difficult to write a book easy enough for children to read and deep enough for adults to enjoy. There is important philosophy that is getting lost in the chaos of pop culture that we all need to know about. Philosophy is not just for academics and nerds, philosophy teaches us how to think clearly, how to reason logically and how to find our truths. Philosophy gives us the framework to develop our paradigms for viewing the world around us.

Book 1 in the Children’s Philosophy series

Sigma Wolf

There is an invisible war against your freedom and we are losing.

I want children to understand why democracy and freedom are important. We need to teach them these very important ideas. I want the adults to understand how to reclaim the freedoms being stolen from us all. We know freedom is important but feel powerless to do anything about our collective encroaching enslavement.

Remember a long time ago there was this man named Gandhi…in India…  he taught us all something important. Do you remember what it was…?  Because it is important now more than ever. How did he defeat the British empire and bring freedom to 800 million people against a super power?

This book is a fun read to children ages 4-8. They will love the story of this wolf in the arctic. It is scary and exciting. Children ages 8-10 will be able to read this book with your help for some of the bigger words. Children ages 10-16 will be able to read this book on their own and they will be wiser for it.

We cannot protect children forever. Eventually they become teenagers and stop listening to us. They will need the intellectual framework to make their own decisions in the world. Make them wiser and they will make good decisions. Let them not blindly follow the crowd but stand on their own.

Life in the Rat Kingdom

This book takes the philosophy of morals and ethics and makes it easy enough for children to understand why they should be good. The reading level is simple but like many Disney movies the content is sophisticated enough to keep adults entertained. Although the primary audience is Children 6-16 years old, adults should read it too. Give me an afternoon of pleasant easy reading and I will give you thought provoking ideas to ponder for life.

The story line keeps moving along as the main Character Gentle Rat loses her idyllic life in the country to a swarm of locusts. The rats flee to the edges of the rat kingdom into the big city in the distance to find safety. Here they discover that the beliefs they were raised assuming were universal are not as common as they thought. The main character has to learn to navigate her way through a complex world that wants to pull her down into the darkness. She must figure out how to return to the light and the good life she left behind. How does a good girl find a way to live among a bad world?

The journey is intriguing and will be easily relatable to your own life. We all have to interact with people with wildly different beliefs than we have. Find out how Gentle Rat handles it.
